History
Founded in 1997 by James R. Varrell, MD, CFG Health Network began with a mission to serve the behavioral health needs of individuals, families, and communities. Center for Family Guidance, PC, is dedicated to providing the highest quality behavioral health services to individuals, families and organizations.
We achieve this through our experienced and compassionate staff, the convenience and accessibility of our practice, and an unwavering commitment to the belief that success in relationships is the foundation for personal well-being. In addition to our outpatient services, CFG extends behavioral health services to hospitals, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), schools, community service organizations, and more.
Since 1999, Center for Family Guidance, PC has been at the forefront of telebehavioral health in New Jersey. Founder and Medical Director Dr. Jim Varrell performed the nation’s first commitment via telepsychiatry and has been a leading advocate for the appropriate use of telepsychiatry to enhance access to care.
Today, Center for Family Guidance, PC continues collaborating, offering onsite and telehealth services to partners in various care settings.
